The financial industry continues to suffer from an increase in regulations accompanied by staggered changes. These oversight attempts to mitigate risk are often slowed down by the waves of disconnected data and by the lack of automation. Despite a plethora of so-called technology solutions, financial institutions still rely on "stick-and-tapes" fixes. It turns out that in-house hand-crafted solutions reflect more the users' needs and embrace current industry culture.
This talk will showcase how a combination of semantic technologies can:
- Store the meaning of the rules that guide the organization
- Understand how rules interact with each other
- Automate manual functions
- Provide enterprise scale, transparency, consistency, and flexibility
