DESCRIPTION:Click for Latest Location Information: http://smartdata2015.dataversity.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=91&proposalid=7981\nNoSQL brings the promise of data models other than relational. You can model data as RDF triples – atomic, easy to create/combine/share; as documents, which may be mostly structured text plus metadata; as data, which may be richly structured objects. In this talk we’ll describe some real-world projects built on a multi-model NoSQL database – MarkLogic. With access to all those models, how do you choose between them? If you choose to use more than one model, what goes where and why?\nWe’ll briefly describe the sweet spot for each model, then describe a set of projects where the models are used together including:\nA major media company using triples and documents to manage digital assets and metadata\nA financial services company applying semantics to financial data to do data integration without ETL\nA scientific publisher using semantics to improve access to, and understanding of, scientific journals\nA TV company with an innovative mobile app to search, organize, and recommend movie clips using triples and digital documents
